What made the first Long Island Bash different?
It was a partnership. The Long Island Capital Alliance brought its network to the RXR Corporate Center in Melville, and Jews in Weed brought the bagels and the community, which put cannabis operators in the same room as the investors, attorneys and advisors who work alongside them. It also ran from 8 to 11 AM, one of our longest Bash mornings, so nobody had to rush a conversation to make it to a show floor.
For a lot of guests, the first thing they saw was not the front door but the parking lot, where a Bodega Boyz Cybertruck was parked next to a rack of bagel trays. It set the tone for the morning: a little ridiculous, very New York, and a great excuse to take a picture.
What was happening inside?
Coffee and bagels on round tables, sponsor banners and exhibitor tables along the walls, and a row of swag bags waiting by the door. The photos below are selfies by Jews in Weed co-founder Jordan Isenstadt, which tells you how the morning went: he kept pulling people aside for a quick picture, whether they had just met or had not seen each other since the last show.
One of our favorite moments: Jordan putting on tefillin in the middle of the morning, next to a beaming guest in a black hat. It is exactly the kind of thing that happens at a Jews in Weed gathering and almost nowhere else in this industry.
Who came out?
Operators and brand founders from Long Island and New York City, along with attorneys, financial advisors and investors from the Alliance's network, plus plenty of familiar faces from earlier Bashes this year. Jewish professionals and allies, as always, side by side.
Thank you, Long Island
Thank you to the Long Island Capital Alliance for partnering with us on our first Long Island Bash, to the RXR Corporate Center for the room, and to every sponsor and exhibitor who showed up early to make it happen. See how sponsorship works.
